As part of the 2010 Imagine Festival, UTSA is presenting SnowCrash. This newest exhibit at UTSA”s ArtSpace is a scene of Neal Stephenson’s 1992 novel “Snow Crash.” The entire sim was developed by Igor Ballyhoo in collaboration with Rebeca Bashly, both of whom worked tirelessly for weeks to create an immersive environment that captures the mood and scenery of Stephenson’s novel. This work alone makes a visit to the exhibit more than worthwhile.

What further adds to the experience is the fantastic art placed by some of the most prominent artists in SL. The exhibit includes 3D and 2D art set on boats and rafts around a central ship, as well as art placed on the ship itself. In alphabetical order and by “dimensions,” the artists are:

The education collaboration between August Chrome (Peru) and constructivIST Solo (USA) has led to the creation of a Global Social Networking Visualization Map on the sim adjacent to UTSA’s ArtSpace – the UTSA Administrative Island. Please add yourself to the forming network by clicking on the map at the location you wish your marker to show at.  To connect with the others who placed a marker, just click on their’s and wait for them  to accept your request to connect. If you received a request you can either accept the request via menu OR click their marker in return.

The exhibition will officially open at 3PM SLT today, Starlash Sweetwater will be the DJ for the time of the party (YaY)

In 2010, shopping in SL has become eye-candy, and shops compete to be on the nicest sims. Some days ago, I was blogging about Hyde and Seek, this morning I could not resist the brand new SL shopping attraction: SLOW. Perfect name for a visit with my sunday morning lazy coffee in bed.

Wether you are looking for a pretty place to visit, want to take pictures for your blog or profile, or last but not least need a little retail therapy, SLOW is the total sunday treat!!!!! (doesn’t stop you from going there tomorrow too though )

Visit Alpha & Omega at Three Moon village

I owe it in big part to Looker Lumet for meeting the incredibly surprising Nevery Lorakeet. Of course I knew her Flickr gallery like most of us flickrites of SL. But being invited to one of the Avatrait nights, where she was exhibiting her work, we got to “meet” and talk a little. A few weeks later, Neve sent me a folder, with eyelashes. Anyone who has known me long enough in SL knows i’m not an eyelashes person, I hardly know or have the patience to put them right, and i refuse to edit the shape of my eyes. Neve’s lashes were so unexpected, they were like her Flickr work: incredibly creative, with a passion for details and feminity. I already blogged a couple of them. Last week, out of curiosity perhaps, she sent me a skin she has been working on…. Here is the contrast between her “greek mermaid” skin, a cyber kimono, and the amazing CHINA sim background.
